After more than two full decades, snake-metal veterans Zao are still one of the most impressive and relevant bands making music today.

Zao has always been good, and we were lucky enough to get to be a part of a few of their first few records.

Steadfast Records first release was also Zao's first. The Tie That Binds came out in 1995 as a split 7" with Dayton-core heavyweights Outcast sharing the second side. This release features the original, much heavier recording of the Zao track Flight, that wass later to be re-recorded for All Else Failed.

This early lineup does a stellar job of setting the tone for the next two decades of evolution for this band. In 1999 we re-issued this 7" as a CD with updated artwork and a bonus Zao track 'Security' that we couldn't fit on the record.
This was quickly followed up in the summer of 1996 by their debut full length release All Else Failed. An amazingly complex album far ahead of it's time, this is where you can really see the band begin to set the roots for their legacy. This record was produced by Myk Porter (Six Feet Deep/Brandtson/Golden Streets of Paradise), and truly holds up twenty years later. We initially released 1000 copies of this on CD in 1996, then later updated the artwork and re-released in 1999, again limited to 1000 copies on CD. In the summer of 2017 this album was released digitally. All Else Failed was later re-recorded with a later lineup and released with different artwork.

Our third release with Zao was also a split 7", this time with Canada's Through & Through taking the second side to the Zao ripper 'Repressed'. Limited to 500 copies and pressed on red vinyl.
